Thomas Schumacher, DVM | |
| Dr. Schumacher grew up in the area and always wanted to be a veterinarian. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, his love for the area brought him back to practice veterinary medicine. He joined the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic, S.C. in 1993 as a mixed animal practitioner (working with both food animals and companion animals). After the retirement of Dr. Moats, Dr. Schumacher transferred his focus to the small animal practice. Dr. Schumacher emphasizes preventative care in small animals and is also Penn Hip certified. In his spare time, he is a serious baseball fan, enjoys reading, running, traveling, volunteering his time at local events, and spending time with his family. | ![]() |
Scott Brewer, DVM | |
| Dr. Brewer began his interests in a veterinary career while attending the University of Missouri in Columbia. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Agriculture, and continued on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced at a small animal clinic for 2 years in St. Louis, Missouri, and then lived in Dallas, Texas for 6 years working at a small animal clinic and an emergency animal hospital. In 1995 after falling in love with the area, Dr. Brewer moved to Wisconsin and joined the team at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic. He is committed to the care and well being of cats and dogs, but also helps smaller creatures such as “pocket pets” (rabbits, rats, gerbils, hedgehogs, etc.). When he isn’t hard at work, he enjoys gardening and camping, and supports youth soccer and gymnastics. | ![]() |
Craig Heyman, DVM | |
| Dr. Heyman has been around animals since he was a child. While growing up, his family owned hunting Labrador Retrievers, homing pigeons (he was a member of the Cream City Flying Club in high school), and other various pets such as fish, turtles, cats, rabbits, parakeets, and a horse. After graduating from Homestead High School, he attended the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Science with a major in Zoology. He then attended the University of Wisconsin’s School of Veterinary Medicine in Madison and completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Since 1997, Dr. Heyman has enjoyed working at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic focusing on small animal medicine and surgery, preventative medicine, and also has an interest in dentistry. In his spare time, he supports the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and likes volleyball, biking and canoeing. | ![]() |
Joe Scoby, DVM | |
| Since 1979, Dr. Scoby has practiced dairy and other food animal medicine at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic. His credentials include a B.S. and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. He successfully completed the Dairy Certification Program at the University of Wisconsin and is also certified in Advanced Dairy Nutrition from the University of Illinois. He currently devotes his time to dairy medicine, surgery and herd health management, and specializes in dairy nutrition. He enjoys golfing in his spare time. | ![]() |
Jeff Halverson, DVM | |
| Since 1989, Dr. Halverson has been a veterinarian at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic, focusing solely in dairy and other food animal medicine. His primary interest is dairy farm resource allocation, which involves strategic planning for the economic health of farms. He received a Bachelor’s Degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Colorado State University with a focus in Dairy Science. While attending college, Dr. Halverson worked at CSU Dairy and several other small dairies. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, golfing and fishing with his family. | ![]() |
Eric Weinhold, DVM | |
| Since 2002, Dr. Weinhold has been practicing dairy and other food animal medicine at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic. He enjoys the challenge of herd management and preventative medicine. He received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from University of Wisconsin in Madison. He became a veterinarian after graduating from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. In his free time, he enjoys running, coaching Cedarburg soccer, basketball, and hunting grouse and pheasant with his English Cocker Spaniel named Chip. | ![]() |
Jill Kozminski, DVM | |
| Dr. Kozminski began her animal career in high school while working at a dairy and beef farm. Throughout college she worked at the University of Wisconsin beef herd in Arlington. She also exhibited Angus cattle at the county, state and national levels. After receiving her Animal Science Degree at the University Wisconsin in Madison, she continued on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree. She joined the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic in 2006 and has been devoting her time as a mixed animal veterinarian (working with both food animals and companion animals). Dr. Kozminski spends free time doing many outdoor sports and activities such as swimming, biking, running, volleyball and soccer. She also enjoys spending time with her dog Brewer and cat Nala. | ![]() |

Chris, CPA and Hospital Administrator | |
| Chris has had experience in public companies for 20 years. She attended the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where she received her Bachelor’s of Business Administration. Since 2007, she has been responsible for business operations including customer service. Chris also has a love for animals. She grew up helping out on her Uncle’s dairy farm and now has two Labradors. When Chris isn’t contributing her time to the operation of the clinic, she enjoys reading, running, tennis (especially grand slam tournaments), coaching, camping, hiking and travelling with her family. | ![]() |

| Vicki has been keeping our finances straight since October of 2005. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Prior to her employment at CVC, she worked for various public and non-profit companies. Besides numbers and equations, Vicki also loves animals. Growing up, she showed her Collie in 4-H and also had a horse. She raises monarch butterflies with her family by finding eggs and hatching them, and also enjoys long fishing trips with the whole family. Vicki currently has a Collie named Gracie. | ![]() |

Brenda, CVT | |
| Growing up on a dairy farm and exhibiting dairy cattle through 4-H, Brenda has surrounded herself with animals her entire life. She took her interest in animals and acquired an Associate’s degree in Applied Science through the Veterinary Technician Program at Madison Area Technical College. After passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam, she started working as a Certified Veterinary Technician at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic in 1992. She enjoys surgical nursing and care, dentistry, working in the laboratory, and helping clients get the information they need to help their pets. She also has a special interest in large animal work, specifically dairy and small ruminants. Outside of work she is a 4-H leader, plays the flute and piccolo, and participates in horseback riding, skiing, and gardening. She enjoys spending time with her family which includes 1 dog, 3 cats, and 3 horses. | ![]() |
Kathleen, CVT | |
| Growing up on a dairy farm in Jackson really helped Kathleen get great animal experience. She was actively involved in the Washington County and Wisconsin Holstein Associations, exhibiting cattle at the Washington County and Wisconsin State Fairs for 10 years. Besides her dairy cattle, Kathleen also had a pet rabbit and a horse. Kathleen attended Madison Area Technical College’s Veterinary Technician Program. During that time she began her career at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic. After passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam she continued to work at the clinic as a Certified Veterinary Technician. Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys playing volleyball, wakeboarding, kayaking, and spending time with her husband, cat (Izzy) and dog (Roscoe) on their dairy farm. | ![]() |
Kaytie, CVT | |
| Before starting her position as a Certified Veterinary Technician at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic in 2006, Kaytie enjoyed contributing her time to helping animals. She volunteered at the Sheboygan County Humane Society, she was a member of 4-H and was active in her High School FFA organization. While attending Madison Area Technical College’s Veterinary Technician Program, she assisted the program by being the WSALAVT Club Historian and the Hill’s food representative. She also broadened her knowledge by completing a clinical rotation in the Oncology department at University of Wisconsin Madison’s Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. At the clinic, she has a great deal of interest in animal behavior and exotics. During her spare time, Kaytie enjoys reading, playing with her black cats Maverick, Midas, and Daniel. She has a goal of training her rescued mixed breed dog Dezi to be a therapy dog, and also has Maverick involved in a blood donor program. | ![]() |

| Before attending the Veterinary Technician Program at Madison Area Technical College, Lynn worked on a small dairy farm. After receiving her license and becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician, she worked for 2 small animal veterinary clinics and a humane society. Since 2006, Lynn has enjoyed a variety of companion and dairy animal veterinary care at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic, including helping and educating clients, nursing care, performing laboratory tests and completing dental procedures. When Lynn isn’t helping pets at the clinic, she is spending time with her 3 cats, horseback riding with her 2 horses, motorcycle riding, travelling to her cabin, and taking care of her 110 gallon aquarium. | ![]() |
Sara, CVT | |
| Sara grew up on a hobby farm and and participated in the 4-H horse and pony project with her palomino Quarter horse. Sara took her love of animals to the next level and graduated from the Madison Area Technical College’s Veterinary Technician Program. During school, she worked at a humane society and volunteered at various animal welfare organizations. She also completed a clinical rotation in the emergency and critical care department at the University of Wisconsin’s Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. After passing the veterinary technician national exam, Sara began her position as a Certified Veterinary Technician here at CVC. Sara’s special interests around the clinic include clinical pathology, surgical nursing, postoperative care and dentistry. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, photography, travelling with her fiance, snuggling with her cats Chloe and Oreo, and taking walks with her dogs Kody and Burt. | ![]() |

Val, Receptionist and Reception Supervisor | |
| Val has been a valued member of the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic team since 2004. She previously worked in human hospital care doing phlebotomy, and also worked in the loss prevention department at a catalog distribution center. Val now devotes her time at the clinic scheduling the large and small animal doctors, setting up patient appointments for various services, completing invoices and leading the reception team in order to provide excellent client and patient care. In her spare time Val likes to vacation in Florida, take motorcycle road trips, spend time with her family and spoil her yellow lab, Hoover. | ![]() |
Kelly, Receptionist | |
| Kelly has been providing great customer service to clients and patients at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic since 2005. Prior to her arrival here, she worked in the field of banking and investments, and was also a corporate business analyst and account manager. During her workday she participates in clinic marketing, editing documents, planning clinic events, and has a special interest in vaccination protocols and preventative care. In her free time she enjoys motorcycle road trips, vacationing and shopping. Kelly is also the loving owner of her two adopted cats Big Kitty and Skylar, and her dogs Edgar and Butler. | ![]() |

| Since 2003, Jean has been a dedicated receptionist here at the clinic. Besides helping animals at work, she also is involved with animal care at home. Her family currently owns a large dairy farm, consisting of 2,000 head (1,100 head presently being milked). Jean has a Dairy Herd Management certification and is also certified in Artificial Insemination. When Jean isn’t hard at work, she enjoys travelling to see her kids and grandchildren, and spending time with her 2 Shih Tzus, Tippy and Molly. She also loves contributing her time volunteering at Seasons Hospice and for her church. | ![]() |

| Barb has been a lifelong lover of dogs and horses. She currently owns, trains, and breeds horses, and is actively involved in dog agility. Before starting at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic in 2001, she went to Monticello College (Alton, IL) then graduated from Iowa State University (Ames, IA) with a Bachelor’s degree in physical education. She has had multiple years of customer experience from working in several tack shops, so her transition into the position from kennel manager to receptionist at the clinic was natural. Outside of the clinic, Barb enjoys golf, agility with Fred and Ivan, trail riding, horse cart driving, travelling to Wyoming, and spending time with cats Miss Hiss, Stinky, J.J., and Gypsy. | ![]() |

Gregg, Kennel Manager/Building Supervisor | |
| Before starting at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic in 2007, Gregg was hard at work using his B.S. Degree in Business Administration from UW-Stevens Point. Gregg’s numerous years of animal experience as a pet owner helped him transition easily into his position. When he isn’t busy keeping our clinic squeaky clean and our boarders happy and comfortable, Gregg is off enjoying golf, sailing, biking and travelling throughout the United States. He also enjoys taking care of his rescued Siberian Husky. |
Carissa, Kennel Assistant |
| Carissa has played a part for over 7 years in her mother’s pet sitting business by walking, feeding, and cleaning up after many pets including dogs, cats, snakes, rats and more. After graduating from Grafton High School in 2008, Carissa came with her pet care experience to work at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic as a Kennel Assistant. While you are out of town, she is here for you and your pets to make sure they are well fed, exercised frequently, and stay clean and happy. Carissa is currently attending Milwaukee Area Technical College for Graphic Design, but she is interested in taking classes to be a canine massage therapist. When she isn’t playing with the guest pets here at the clinic, she is spending time with her dogs Monty and Orion. She hopes to someday have a pot-bellied pig as a pet (she currently has a stuffed animal collection of pigs since no one will let her have a real one!). |
Nicole, Kennel Assistant |
| Nicole has been a kennel assistant at the CVC since June of 2009 and is currently attending high school. Nicole’s animal experience includes 2 years of kennel attending at the Ozaukee Humane Society, as well as being an animal foster parent for 5 years. When Nicole isn’t caring for your pet at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic she enjoys volleyball, softball, playing piano, and spending time with her bird Pete and Eskipoo Zoe. |
Meredith, Kennel Assistant |
| Meredith has been with the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic since fall of 2010. Meredith grew up with animals all her life, so being a kennel assistant here at the clinic was a perfect fit! In her spare time, she participates in the Engineering Club, SMART team and stage crew at her school, and also cares for her three cats (Bobby, Ella, and Garry), rat (Ginger), and dog (Bosley). |
Eric, Kennel Assistant |
| Eric has been helping out in the kennels at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic since the early fall of 2010. He grew up around animals at the clinic and has experience with his family's two dogs. Eric has a caring heart, and wants to make sure that all pets on his watch are given a lot of attention and walks! In his spare time, he enjoys volleyball, track, basketball, choir, band, and playing with his two Labrador Retrievers, Rocky and Star. |
Rebecca, Kennel Assistant |
| Rebecca has been caring for pets at the Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic kennel since the summer of 2010. She is currently a high school student, but has aspirations to become a veterinarian and own her own clinic with a dog shelter. Outside of the clinic, she obtains animal experience by pet sitting for her neighbors, and feeding chickens, horses and dogs at a neighboring farm. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys playing with her Yorkiepoo/Cairn Terrier named Pepper, playing sports (especially softball), listening to music and being outdoors. |
