FARM ANIMAL SERVICES

Dairy Herd Health Programs

Our dairy herd program consists of routinely scheduled herd checks to examine for pregnancies as well as post partum exams, and problems with breeding. The doctors use ultrasound to help diagnose twinning, check for pregnancies at an earlier stage, and help manage the reproductive cycle.

Vaccination Programs

It is our goal to improve the health of your herd by preventing diseases. We can discuss vaccine programs that will work for your herd as well as discuss other diseases.

Laboratory

With our in-house laboratory we can culture milk from an individual cow, multiple cows, or from the bulk tank. We also offer urine antibiotic residue testing. Our chemistry analyzer will give us Calcium/Phosphorus levels, as well as liver, kidney, and muscle function tests. A complete blood count can quickly be performed to help aid the doctors in a diagnosis. We are able to process stool samples in the laboratory to help identify internal parasites.

We work with outside laboratories to complete more extensive testing such as BVD, Johne’s, scours panels, freemartin testing, and more.

Consulting

We can assist the herdsperson and milkers with milking techniques to help maintain udder health and produce a high quality milk product.

We also offer computerized individual cow records, nutritional consultation, and milking system analysis to increase your profitability and health of your herd.

Surgeries

The Cedarburg Veterinary Clinic offers on-site surgical procedures at the farm. We complete C-sections for animals having birthing difficulties, abdominal surgeries (displaced abomasums or DA), exploratory type surgeries to correct twisted cecums, and more.

Emergencies

We provide our dairy and other farm animal clients with 24 hour emergency service. Please call (414)254-9649.
